Welcome to VanityTab!
VanityTab helps you efficiently manage and switch between multiple resource-intensive local web applications (like Stable Diffusion, Whisper, etc.) using a single server. It integrates with VanityGate, a reverse proxy, to handle starting and accessing your apps.
How VanityTab Works
1. Install and Run VanityGate
First, download and run VanityGate from the official GitHub releases. This server application will manage your local web apps. This step doesn't require you to run your applications yet; VanityGate handles that automatically when you select a tab.
2. Configure in VanityTab
In VanityTab's settings (⚙️ icon in the header), set your VanityGate URL (e.g., http://localhost:11994). Then, add your local web applications: provide a name (e.g., StableDiffusion), their base URL (e.g., http://localhost:7860), and the command/entrypoint VanityGate will use to automatically start them if they aren't already running when a tab is selected.
3. Select an App
When you click on an app's tab in VanityTab, VanityGate works in the background to ensure the selected application is running (starting it if necessary). The app's interface will then appear in the main area below, ready for you to use.
4. Efficiently Switch & Manage
Enjoy seamless access to your powerful local web apps, one at a time. This optimizes your server's resource usage, as only the selected app needs to be active. VanityTab and VanityGate make it easy to manage and switch between them.
